OpShops are located where people can benefit from our services. When other retailers and service providers are withdrawing from communities OpShops invest in them.
OpShops raise money to fund local projects through the sale of donated second-hand goods. We sell good quality clothes, shoes, accessories, books, CDs, DVDs, toys, bric-a-brac and furniture. By employing local people and making local shopping parades more viable, OpShops benefit the local economy.
Come in and have a tea/coffee and a chat while you browse through the shop for a bargain.
Donating Goods to our shops
It is easy to donate your unwanted items to us. You can drop them off at your local shop or book a free collection for furniture and larger items.
You can book a free collection by telephone (please see the Contact Us page for details). Just call between 10 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday. Outside these times please leave a message on our answer machine and we will call you back as soon as possible.
So have a good clear out of your cupboards and loft and see what items you can spare.
There are some things we will not be able to sell for safety or legal reasons. If you are not sure about the items you are donating, please check with your local OpShop.
Some of our donations have a value higher than maybe realised in a local shop and therefore are put on the internet for sale.
The network of OpShops is supported by a central warehouse at Caldewgate which also hosts the network’s offices and offers space for staff training and internet sales. The network owns a van which operates out of the warehouse and supports all the individual shops and provides a delivery service to customers.
